The term 'free-range chicken' (scharrelkip) suggests that these chickens can roam freely with plenty of space. Unfortunately, the reality is quite the opposite. Without resorting to shocking imagery, the Dutch foundation 'Red een legkip' uses this documentary to show alternative ways of farming and to inform citizens about the true life cycle of these chickens.
